Challenge

The challenge for Parametrix began long before construction, as we were tasked with helping our client win the tender by clearly demonstrating the complexity of the build process. A key part of this was simulating groundworks, including validating extensive cut-and-fill operations across a large, topographically varied site.

With significant earth movement required, precise modelling was essential to inform logistics, costs, and sequencing. We then had to translate this dynamic, high-stakes site into detailed, data-rich BIM models, capturing not only the infrastructure but also the sustainable and architectural innovations integrated into the scheme.

Solution

Parametrix supported Glencar Construction with a suite of advanced digital services to drive project success from pre-construction through to handover. Using drone-based photogrammetry, we delivered highly accurate survey data to validate site levels and civil infrastructure models.

Our team produced precise Scan-to-BIM models critical for construction planning and developed a 4D construction simulation to align design intent with build phases. This approach not only won the tender but streamlined coordination, improved resource planning, and ensured a smooth, data-rich digital handover.
